Overview

We want you to be happy with every purchase you make on CollabGadget. If something isn’t right, we’re here to help. This policy explains your return and exchange options, what is and isn’t eligible, and how the process works.

Because CollabGadget sells a wide range of products — from musical instruments and furniture to books, coffee, event tickets, and services — return eligibility and windows vary by category. Please read the relevant section for your item before initiating a return.

Part 1: General Return Rules

1. Standard Return Window

Most eligible items may be returned within 30 days of the delivery date. Some categories have shorter windows or are non-returnable — these are listed in Part 2 below. A small number of items may be sold under a “No Returns” policy, which will be clearly stated on the product listing before you purchase.

2. Condition Requirements

To be accepted for return, items must be:

  • Unused and in the same condition as received;
  • In their original packaging with all tags, accessories, manuals, and included parts;
  • Free from damage caused after delivery.

Items that are returned incomplete, damaged by the customer, or showing signs of use beyond inspection may be refused or subject to a partial refund at our discretion.

3. How Refunds Are Issued

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will process your refund within 5–10 business days. You may choose to receive your refund as:

  • A refund to your original payment method (credit/debit card, PayPal, etc.); or
  • CollabGadget store credit, which is applied to your account immediately upon approval and never expires.

If a restocking fee applies (see Section 5), it will be deducted from your refund before it is issued.

4. Return Shipping

Who covers the cost of return shipping depends on the reason for the return:

  • We cover return shipping if the item arrived damaged, was defective, was the wrong item, or the error was ours;
  • You cover return shipping for all other reasons, including change of mind, buyer’s remorse, or ordering the wrong size or variant.

For items where we cover return shipping, we will provide a prepaid return label by email. For items where you cover shipping, we recommend using a tracked service — we cannot be responsible for returns lost in transit.

5. Restocking Fee

A 15% restocking fee applies to buyer’s remorse returns on the following categories:

  • Electronics;
  • Musical instruments;
  • Pro-Audio equipment (including effect pedals, rack-mount gear, amplifiers, stage equipment, stage lighting and gels, LED lighting, audio mixers, microphones, audio cables, studio monitors, drum kits, cymbals, and musical stands);
  • Furniture and large items;
  • Jewellery;
  • Fitness equipment.

A “buyer’s remorse return” means you changed your mind, no longer want the item, ordered incorrectly, or simply prefer something else. No restocking fee applies where the item was defective, damaged in transit, or the wrong item was sent — those returns are always free and fully refunded.

The restocking fee exists because reselling opened or returned items in these categories involves real costs: inspection, repackaging, testing, and in some cases, the item can only be sold as open-box. We keep the fee at 15% to cover those costs while keeping returns straightforward for customers with genuine issues.

6. Exchanges

We offer exchanges on eligible items for a different size, colour, or variant of the same product, subject to availability. If the replacement item is higher in price, you will be charged the difference. If it is lower, the difference will be refunded to your original payment method or as store credit.

Part 2: Category-Specific Policies

7. General Merchandise

Standard 30-day return window. Item must be unused and in original packaging. Restocking fee applies for buyer’s remorse returns only where the category is listed in Section 5.

8. Musical Instruments

30-day return window. Instruments must be returned in original condition with all included accessories, straps, cases, and documentation. Instruments that have been played beyond basic inspection, set up by a technician, or modified in any way are not eligible for return. A 15% restocking fee applies to buyer’s remorse returns. Defective instruments are covered under warranty — contact us first before initiating a return.

9. Pro-Audio Equipment

30-day return window. Equipment must be returned with all cables, power supplies, manuals, and original packaging. Items that have been rack-mounted, soldered, modified, or show signs of live use beyond inspection are not eligible for return. A 15% restocking fee applies to buyer’s remorse returns. Faulty or dead-on-arrival items will be replaced or fully refunded at no cost to you.

10. Electronics

30-day return window. Must be returned in original packaging with all accessories and documentation. Activated, registered, or software-linked devices may not be eligible for return. A 15% restocking fee applies to buyer’s remorse returns.

11. Furniture and Large Items

30-day return window. Furniture must be unassembled and in its original packaging to be eligible for return. Assembled furniture cannot be returned unless it arrived damaged or defective. Due to the size and weight of large items, return shipping costs for buyer’s remorse returns may be higher than standard — we will confirm the cost before you commit to the return. A 15% restocking fee applies.

12. Jewellery

30-day return window. Items must be unworn and returned in original packaging with any certificates or documentation. For hygiene reasons, earrings and pierced jewellery are non-returnable unless defective or incorrect. A 15% restocking fee applies to buyer’s remorse returns.

13. Fitness Equipment

30-day return window. Must be returned unused and in original packaging. Assembled or used equipment cannot be returned unless defective. A 15% restocking fee applies to buyer’s remorse returns. Large or heavy fitness equipment follows the same return shipping process as furniture (see Section 11).

14. Clothing and Accessories

30-day return window. Items must be unworn, unwashed, and returned with all original tags attached. For hygiene reasons, underwear, swimwear, and hosiery are non-returnable unless defective or mislabelled. No restocking fee on clothing returns.

15. Books and Media

30-day return window for physical books that are unread and in original condition. Damaged or defective books will be replaced or refunded. Digital downloads, eBooks, and audiobooks are non-returnable once the download link has been accessed or the file delivered.

16. Coffee, Food, and Consumables

All food, beverage, and consumable products are non-returnable for health and safety reasons, unless the item arrived damaged, was incorrectly described, or was past its use-by date at the time of delivery. In those cases, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we will arrange a replacement or full refund.

17. Show and Event Tickets

Event tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable once purchased, except where:

  • The event is cancelled by the organiser (full refund will be issued automatically);
  • The event is postponed and you choose not to attend the new date (refund available within 14 days of the postponement announcement);
  • The ticket was materially misdescribed on our platform.

Tickets lost after delivery are not our responsibility. We recommend storing digital tickets securely and printing physical tickets where possible.

18. Services (Printing, Merchandising, Book Publishing, and Similar)

Services that have been fully or partially completed are non-refundable. If work has not yet started, you may cancel within 24 hours of placing your order for a full refund. If work is in progress, a partial refund may be available for the portion not yet completed — this is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

If a completed service does not match the agreed specification or contains errors on our part, we will redo the work at no additional cost or issue an appropriate refund. Contact help.desk@support.collabgadget.com within 7 days of delivery to raise a quality issue.

19. Digital Goods and Downloads

Digital products are non-returnable once they have been accessed, downloaded, or delivered. If a digital product is faulty or cannot be accessed, contact us within 7 days and we will resolve it.

20. Gift Cards

Gift cards are non-returnable and non-refundable. See our Terms of Service for full gift card terms.

21. Personalised and Custom Items

Items that have been personalised, engraved, embroidered, or otherwise customised to your specification are non-returnable unless they arrived defective or the personalisation was applied incorrectly due to our error.

22. Hazardous or Perishable Items

Hazardous materials, flammable goods, and perishable items cannot be returned by post. If one of these items arrives damaged or unsafe, please contact us immediately and do not attempt to return it yourself.


Part 3: Damaged, Defective, and Wrong Items

23. Item Arrived Damaged or Defective

If your item arrives damaged or stops working within the return window, please contact us at help.desk@support.collabgadget.com within 48 hours of delivery for visible damage, or within the return window for faults discovered later. Include your order number and clear photos of the damage or fault. We will arrange a free return, replacement, or full refund — your choice. No restocking fee applies.

24. Wrong Item Received

If you received an item different from what you ordered, contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will send the correct item at no additional cost and arrange free collection of the incorrect one. No restocking fee applies.

25. Missing Items or Parts

If your order arrived incomplete — missing accessories, components, or items from a multi-item order — contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will resolve it promptly.


Part 4: Non-Returnable Items Summary

The following are not eligible for return under any circumstances unless they arrived damaged, defective, or materially misdescribed:

  • Digital downloads and eBooks (once accessed or delivered);
  • Event and show tickets (once purchased, subject to cancellation exceptions);
  • Completed services (printing, publishing, merchandising, etc.);
  • Food, coffee, and consumables;
  • Gift cards;
  • Personalised or custom-made items;
  • Earrings and pierced jewellery (hygiene);
  • Underwear, swimwear, and hosiery (hygiene);
  • Assembled furniture;
  • Items explicitly listed as “No Returns” on the product page.

Part 5: Return Abuse

26. Our Policy on Return Abuse

CollabGadget is a startup and we rely on fair use of our returns process to keep costs down and prices competitive for everyone. We monitor return patterns and reserve the right to refuse returns, limit return privileges, or suspend accounts where we identify patterns consistent with return abuse, including but not limited to:

  • Repeatedly returning items after use (“wardrobing” or “renting”);
  • Returning items in a condition different from what was received;
  • Falsely claiming damage or defects to avoid restocking fees;
  • Returning a different item to the one purchased;
  • An unusually high volume of returns relative to purchases.

We take return fraud seriously. Where return abuse is identified, we reserve the right to recover costs and, in serious cases, refer the matter to relevant authorities.
